Introduction

The services of Jamaat-e-Islami in the struggle for the Islamic system in Pakistan, the approval of the Objectives Resolution, the movement for the finality of the Prophethood, the preparation and approval of the Constitution of Pakistan, the unity of the nation and service to the people are prominent, which everyone acknowledges. The role of Jamaat-e-Islami has been prominent in the struggle to protect the ideological and geographical borders of the country, promote Islamic values, implement the Islamic system of life, and make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state.

Islamic thinker Syed Abul Ala Maududi (may Allah have mercy on him) proposed the idea of establishing religion and Islam as a complete code of life. The idea of the dominance of religion and the implementation of the Islamic system that he presented in the form of literature and practical struggle, not only influenced the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent, Bangladesh, Kashmir and Sri Lanka and changed the course of their lives, but this idea had global effects. From Turkey to Egypt, from Asia to Africa and from the Arab world to the West, there is no corner of the world where the effects of this idea have not reached. Islamic movements and Muslims all over the world have benefited from this idea and thought. It has not only changed the lives of millions of people but also the struggle to implement the Islamic system, the effects of which are being seen in different countries today. Jamaat-e-Islami supports brotherly relations among Muslims at the global level, seeks their strength and growth, while seeking to establish relations with all countries of the world on the basis of mutual respect, equality and justice.

Jamaat-e-Islami believes in revolutionary leadership using constitutional and democratic means. For this, there is an exemplary democracy and shura system within the party, in which the central Ameer goes through an electoral process to the Union Council Ameer, and the party members use their free will to elect the Ameer at every level. In this context, Jamaat-e-Islami has the honor of being the only truly democratic party in the country.

The Jamaat-e-Islami has the distinction of not having a monopoly on any family, individuals or group. It is based on Shuraism, where leadership and Shura councils at all levels are elected democratically, and the system is run through consultation. Here, no one is offered a position because of being a member of the family of a certain level of emir, rather, members freely choose their leadership, in which devotion to God, piety and competence and ability are kept in mind.

Jamaat-e-Islami has the distinction that all its followers trust it and hand over their trusts to the party. While Jamaat-e-Islami believes in character building, there is also a system of accountability within it, which comes into play automatically, and in case of any malfunction, it performs the duty of rectifying the situation. This is why, both inside and outside the party, wherever trusts are handed over to the party’s affiliates, they set an example of trust and honesty. More than a thousand Jamaat-e-Islami affiliates have served in the Senate, national and provincial assemblies, and local government institutions. Not only has their performance been exemplary in provincial ministries and district administrations, but they have set a standard in safeguarding the nation’s trusts and their proper use, which even their opponents exemplify and testify to. A budget of billions of rupees was at their discretion, but no opponent has been able to accuse them of a single penny of corruption. Praise be to God, Jamaat-e-Islami affiliates have always stayed away from the politics of corruption and looting. His name is not in any of the Panama and Dubai leaks, nor does his name always appear in any list of those who bought plots and got their loans forgiven.
